Bets can be placed on the player making their point, not making their point, or the number that the player will roll. The player must keep rolling until they make a Point.

When a player makes their point, the object of the game is to roll that point number again before they roll Craps (a 7). The Point number is noted on the board with a small white disc on the board layout. If the player successfully makes their Point again, they win, and if they roll a 7 before they make their Point again they loose.

Other players can place bets on the numbers that the player rolls, on if the player will make their point or if the player will 7-out. Bets that are placed in individual numbers have different payout odds because of the different combinations that can be rolled to make up those numbers. As an example, the odds for rolling a 7 are less then the odds for rolling an 11 because there's a lot more combinations that make a 7 then make an 11.

Mastering all of the different bet types in Craps can take a long time. When it's boiled down to a simple game, you are betting that the player either will, or wont, make their point. That's the basic idea behind the game. You can bet with the player to make their point, or against the player to not make their point.
